First Easter with just my wife and I. We decided to have an easter egg hunt where we both got to hide eggs for the other in different parts of the house and timed each other on finding them. We both hid 19 eggs with hers in the game room and mine in the office. She beat me by 3 minutes.
We had a Google Duo dinner with the in-laws. For dinner, I made M albec pot roast in the slow cooker and Brussels sprouts while my wife made scalloped potatoes.
For dessert we had a “bake off” with both of us competing to make something better than the other. She made personal cheesecakes with nutella and chocolate eggs, I made “drunken brownies” which is normal brownies with a lot of vodka.... she won that too.

Nice. We laid low and did a Zoom family hookup that was surprisingly fulfilling.
My brother and his boys played an Easter medley that he arranged. He’ll probably post it tomorrow. We did that via Zoom as well and even my octogenarian parents got connected with an iPad. There’s so much poo in the world right now and all I’m able to do is count blessings, of which, Oppo is definitely one.

I dropped food off and social distanced outside on the back deck. My little niece and nephew were very confused.

Very nice! Way to go with the effort.
I did a turkey and we had a social distance dinner in the backyard with my daughter and bo who are sequestered on his farm. It was kinda nice not to have 20 people over tbh

We attempted a zoom with my wife’s family. Her brother was able to log in fine but other t echnophobic family members required way too much assistance and kept fucking it up. I spent like 15 minutes on the phone with one of them talking them through opening up a browser window, typing in a URL, and logging into the meeting. Then they kept saying in the meeting, “we can see you but not hear you” so I had to call them again and tell them how to hit the fucking volume up key on their laptop .
Needless to say, going forward we’ll only be video calling my wife’s brother’ s household. Fucking hell.

My god, but you are fancy folks!
We did a scavenger hunt for the daughter and the brunch thing (quiche, potatoes, papaya and mimosas). GF and I split a bottle of champagne for the mimos...well by split, she had about 1/3 of the bottle and I made sure the rest didn’t go to waste while we were on FaceTime with her brother and SIL. Then a brisk nap, followed by a walk and another nap then some more clean up detailing on the car...

My MIL is similarly tech challenged. They got her video up and then had her call in by phone. It worked at least.

Actually the most annoying part was my wife was having fun with her brother’s fam while I was off in the other room trying to talk her sister’s husband through this shit, and my wife would keep hollering at me, “ARE YOU DONE YET? YOU’RE TALKING OVER ME!” and I’m like, goddammit I’m not the one causing the slowness here.
